July was the perfect month to go hiking in Slovak High Tatras. Our aim was to hike up the Koprovsky Stit (2,363 m). The hike starts at a large parking lot at Strbske pleso and takes you around several other lakes.
It has a total elevation of approximately 1,100 m.
The hike takes around 9-10 hours depending on your fitness level.

Strbske and Popradske Pleso
During the first 6 km, we took the red trail which took us from Strbske Pleso to Popradske Pleso (pleso meaning lake). The trail was mostly rocky and the views started to open.

From Popradske pleso, we continued the blue trail. The next 5 kilometers were very steep (but little did we know what was waiting for us at the end of the hike).

Hincovo Mountains Lakes
At the end of the blue trail, there were two other lakes - Velke Hincovo pleso (Great Hincovo Mountain Lake) and Male Hincovo pleso. We wanted to make a quick stop at Velke Hincovo pleso but the weather was so harsh that we decided to continue our hike. Be prepared for a very windy and cold weather even during summer months.

Hiking up, the views over the both lakes were magnificent.

Koprovsky Stit
Hiking Koprovsky Stit is among the harder trails in High Tatras - the last kilometre was mostly about climbing rocky terrain. But if the weather is well, the views over the mountains are very well worth it. You will definitely feel the 1,100 m of elevation in your legs the next days.

On our way back, we made a quick stop at Liptovska Mara - the largest water reservoir in Slovakia.

Finally
The route is here.
bye bye ♡
