After two weeks exploring northern part of Tenerife (which you can read more about here), we moved to another location in Anaga Park. We wanted to do some more hiking and enjoy calm holidays in San Andres.
San Andres
Just a 10-minute ride from Santa Cruz, there is a small town San Andres surrounded by Anaga mountains. The location is perfect if you want to be away from the crowds and a rushed city.
What we did not know is that there is the longest sandy beach in the whole Tenerife called Playa de Las Teresitas. It can get a bit crowded throughout the day, but not much. Every day, we walked there to watch the sunrise.
Anaga Mountains
San Andres is a good starting point to explore Anaga mountains. You can drive there also from La Laguna - just above the city, there is Mirador de Jardina which is a great viewpoint overseeing the island. On lucky days you might see Teide as well.
Benijo - El Draguillo - Paso del Hediondo
Circular route from Benijo belongs to the most famous hiking trails in the whole Anaga. We walked this route.
We first started walking along the coast to El Draguillo, then up the hill and back. The hill was steep, the flowers were higher than me, dragon trees were everywhere. We did not meet a single soul.
After reaching the highest point, we walked back while facing the most magnificent views.
Definitely a must see!
Sendero de los Sentidos
Sendero de los Sentidos is a short walk in Anaga Park near La Laguna. It takes you to what looks like a fairytale forest.
The walk is accessible by everyone, also kids, I definitely recommend to visit even for a short stop while driving through the mountains.
Punta del Hidalgo
Punta del Hidalgo is a secluded place with a modern lighthouse. If you enjoy architecture, this is the place for you ☺︎ Everywhere you look, you will see mountains which is very contrasty with the lighthouse. But I must say it fits the surroundings very well.
That's Anaga.
bye bye ♡
