This weekend was all about coffee and food.

Budapest
Budapest reminded me of home in many aspects. It is just 4 hours away from Czechia by train. Architecture and vibe was similar to Prague, tiny streets looked almost as walking through Brno.

Hungarian Parliament is probably the most iconic destination, with many visitors passing by even in the foggy weather.

You can go down to walk by the river Danube, or just enjoy the view over Danube from the outside of the Parliament.

During the weekend, we tried many local cafés and bistros - Norma Grand, Flow Specialty Coffee Bar & Bistro, Ecocafe, and Fekete Kávézó, all of which had vegan options and specialty coffee ☺︎ We had a wonderful breakfast in The Garden Studio & Cafés which is also a store and people there were lovely, and dined at Szabad Bisztro where we tried some local beer. We also visited Mazeltov, but this rather seemed as a touristy place.

Right outside of Norma Grand, there was a Széllkapu park with almost futuristic installations. This is how I image sci-fi scenery.

If you don't mind the crowds, Buda Castle or Heroes Square are among other attractions to visit in Budapest.

It was a quick trip but I'm glad I visited. Budapest provided a mirror with reflection of my own home (probably because there was Czech language and Czech beer everywhere), but I guess I will always prefer landscapes over cities.
Until next time, bye ♡
