Two years ago, we hiked through Saxon Switzerland with my best friend during autumn while sleeping in the car. We were lucky that we had sunny weather throughout the whole trip, so the sceneries were truly beautiful in this part of the year.
We arrived late afternoon to Pfaffendorf to do a quick hike to catch a sunset from Pfaffenstein (trail here).
Day 1: Königstein - Lilienstein - Bastei
The first day, we did a 22.5 km hike starting from Königstein. We had to cross the river on a boat and then we hiked to Lilienstein.
The trail continued by the river to Kurort Rathen. We turned right to hike through the valley heading to Bastei via circular route.
When finally reaching Bastei, it was overcrowded with people. However, the views were magnificent.
Then, we slowly headed back to Königstein. There was still a couple of kilometres left and we were glad there was nothing major to climb anymore. The final part took us through the forests and villages during the golden hour.
The whole route is here.
Day 2: Bad Schandau - Schrammsteine - Großer Winterberg
For the second day, we planned a 19 km route to visit Schrammsteine and Großer Winterberg.
See the route here.
The trail consisted from a lot of stairs and views. Very much worth it ☺︎
Final words
You probably noticed my posts are getting shorter and shorter ☺︎
I guess I prefer to show, not to tell.
Until next,
bye bye ♡
